On the 14th of August 2021, Menstrual Hygiene Management Sensitization and Skills Acquisition programme was conducted at the chief’s palace in Ushafa. It was facilitated by Mrs Elizabeth Achimugu and Mr Lucky Obokhai, with 50 people in attendance.
This programme’s goal was to improve relationship between mother and daughter, increase livelihood of women, encourage good personal hygiene as well as confidence. During the programme, the women engaged in every exercise given to them during the discussions and they seemed to enjoy themselves immensely; there was a free flow of information between the women present; questionnaires were given to the women before the menstrual hygiene programme to know their knowledge on menstruation and another was given after the menstrual hygiene program ended to get feedback from them; souvenirs [IMSA branded bags] and refreshment were provided.
